Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Peel the onion and garlic. Roughly chop the mint and coriander.

Place the chickpeas, onion, garlic, herbs and spices in the MINIPRO chopper bowl. Blend using the MINIPRO hand blender until you have a smooth paste, but not too smooth (keep a few chunks for texture).

Add the breadcrumbs to absorb excess moisture and help the mixture hold together. Season and mix well.

With lightly oiled hands, form balls and flatten them into steak shapes.

In the oven: place the keftas on a baking tray lined with baking paper and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 20 minutes at 180°C, turning them halfway through cooking.
In a frying pan: brown them in a little olive oil for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until they have a nice golden crust.
Serving suggestion
Serve your keftas with yoghurt and lemon or in a pita bread filled with raw vegetables for added crunch.
